Simon Joseph

Simon Joseph

Simon is best known in Australia and the USA as the creator of the leisure industry public relations company Dreamcoat, which operated successfully for two decades, representing the world’s best leisure brands on both sides of the Pacific Ocean.

As a recognised innovator, Simon was credited with creating some of the world's first brand-funded television content when he devised the format for an annual television special for his client, Lucky Dog (Nestle) dog food. The Lucky Dog Great Australian Dog of the Year aired annually in Australia for more than 10 years and included an awards event in Sydney on Australia Day.

Through his work with the World Wrestling Foundation (WWF), he relaunched the dormant WWF brand in Australia and successfully repackaged its television content into a 'family-friendly' property, compliant with Australian broadcasting regulations. This was so successful that the USA-based global WWF organisation hired Simon to coordinate the global relaunch of its  WWF brand into the new World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) brand, including a re-branding public relations campaign in the USA.

Dreamcoat's public relations clients included Toys “R” Us, Donut King, Borders, Cartoon Network, Guinness, and Australian Football League (AFL) Licensing, which tripled its turnover value. Additionally, Simon and his team  developed Australia’s major red-carpet film, television and music awards nights into internationally recognised events.

Dreamcoat was always at the forefront of technology, pioneering global publicity programs for the original video conferencing company CU-SeeMe, for international software company White Pine Software, and for Kyocera mobile phones.  This work resulted in Dreamcoat being named Mobility Magazine’s PR Firm of the Year.

Simon continues to consult on projects that interest him while searching for his next real passion. With C! and the world of long form brand-funded television content, he has found it.
